Direct Negotiations Between Lebanon and Israel: A Statement by the Lebanese Private Sector Network

The Lebanese Private Sector Network welcomes the success of President Joseph Aoun in securing a ceasefire, an essential step toward restoring stability and placing Lebanon on a credible path to recovery.

We reaffirm our full support for the Lebanese state and the government of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam in this critical phase. We strongly support all measures to enforce security, particularly in Beirut, through strengthened deployment of the army and security forces, the prevention of any destabilization, and the facilitation of the return of displaced populations, to the extent possible. This must be matched by the immediate reactivation of public institutions and the restoration of state functionality.

This phase must be led solely by the Lebanese state, free from any external tutelage or interference. Restoring trust in constitutional institutions requires one clear principle: the state alone governs national affairs.

For the private sector, stability is not optional, it is existential. It is the foundation for investment, growth, and job creation. That stability depends on a lasting peace that safeguards the land, secures sovereignty, relaunches reconstruction, and provides a safe, predictable environment for business.

Accordingly, we call for the continuation of negotiations toward a comprehensive and lasting agreement, one that fully restores the sovereignty of the Lebanese state over all its territory and anchors a new phase of sustainable stability and economic prosperity.

The Lebanese Private Sector Network stands firmly alongside the state, across all its institutions, until sovereignty is fully secured, stability is sustained, and Lebanon is set on a clear path to the prosperity it deserves.
